New in Basecamp 4 is the Card Table tool, our take on Kanban. Not content just doing what everyone else has done, we've layered in a number of practical, everyday, common sense improvements and innovations that eliminate a number of hacks people usually have to deal with to get Kanban to do what they want.

It's a lot right? But it doesn't have to be.

Brand new in Basecamp 4 is The Lineup — a great way to get a bird's eye view of all the projects that are currently in play. Know who's working on what, how much time has passed, and how much time is left. You'll also get to see projects that haven't started yet, and stuff that's recently finished. It's an especially wonderful, visual view for managers who need to stay on top of stuff without staying on top of people.

We just had a full-company IRL meetup in Amsterdam, and used Basecamp to organize and manage the whole thing. In this video, I walk you through our actual account and actual project to show you how we set it up. Basecamp's really great for managing events like this — I hope you find it illuminating.

Basecamp Project Templates let you set up a project once, and use it a bunch of times. Very handy. In this example, I walk through how we use a Project Template to simply the onboarding process when hiring a new programmer. (And thanks for the question, Charles)

It takes seconds to kick off a new project in Basecamp. And only about a minute to set up a more advanced one. Great question! So in this video, I walk through the process of starting a new project and setting one up with multiple tools, renaming tools, establishing some basic structure, and then inviting people.
