New in Basecamp: Set client access on templates

Project templates are a game changer when you do the same kind of work over and over again. Create to-dos, set up folders, and organize tools once, then spin up similar projects in just a few clicks. But when you work with clients, it takes extra steps to get things ready. After creating your project from a template and inviting folks in, you still need to choose what the client can see. We made some improvements to make working with clients and templates easier. Now you can choose what clients see (and what stays private) from inside the template.

New in Basecamp: Better events, including one-click video access & everyday language support

Scheduling client meetings and team calls happens all the time in Basecamp. It's an essential tool, so we set out to improve the experience and bring over what we learned building HEY Calendar. That includes two new features — everyday language support for adding events and quick access to video meetings!

New in Basecamp: Assign names and images to group pings

Pings are an essential communication tool in Basecamp — if you need to collaborate outside of a project or discuss something more privately, send a ping. But when you have a lot of pings with a lot of people, it’s hard to tell conversations apart. A single name and a few avatars are all you have to go by. You have to open each thread to figure out who’s in which one. Not anymore! Now in Basecamp, you can add a name and image to your pings so they’re easier to identify.

New in Basecamp: Timesheet

Need to track time so you can bill your client? Want to know who's spending how much time on what? Introducing Timesheet, an add-on that makes tracking time simple. Track time by clicking the green timer at the top of to-dos, cards, docs, and more. To capture work that happened elsewhere, add time to the project itself on the project home page. You can add hours for other people on the project, too, which is handy if they forgot.

Introducing HEY for Families

Since HEY launched, we’ve heard from many of you who want to share all the goodness of HEY with the people in your family. We get it! We have partners, kids, and parents who would benefit from HEY, too. So, today we’re introducing HEY for Families — add up to 4 additional HEY accounts for just $179/year total! One person pays and invites everyone, but the accounts remain separate and private.
