Deep dive into Element X!

The Matrix Conference saw the official launch of Element X! That means Element X is now the mobile app that almost all Element users should be using for messaging; both in the workplace and for personal use. Some large customers that self-host are still using the classic mobile Element apps. Once those customers have migrated, Element X will simply become ‘Element’ and the classic mobile apps will be retired.

openDesk enters the chat with Element!

Element is delighted to be joining the launch of openDesk at Smart Country Convention in Berlin, 15-17 October. For those that don’t know already, openDesk is an Office & Collaboration Suite for public administration. The development of openDesk is led by the Centre for Digital Sovereignty in Public Administration (ZenDiS), a limited company created by Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI). Element was selected by ZenDiS as the real time communications component within openDesk.

NATO NI2CE Messenger utilises the power of decentralised communication

Fast Company recently covered NATO ACT’s partnership with us to create its NI2CE Messenger, an exploratory initiative to investigate the potential of a digitally sovereign messenger. For experimental use within NATO ACT, NI2CE (NATO Interoperable Instant Communication Environment) is a sovereign and secure messenger that aims to complement existing NATO communication solutions with a secure Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) style messenger for ‘non classified’ use.

We have lift-off! Element X, Call and Server Suite are ready!

Element is launching the world’s first communications platform based on the upcoming Matrix 2.0 release. The result is blazing performance which outperforms the mainstream alternatives - across a decentralised system that enables self-hosting and end-to-end encryption - as well as open standard interoperability to revolutionise real time communication between large organisations.

Adfinis adds Element to its Portfolio of Services

Adfinis, a recognised and internationally active open source provider, and Element, a leading service provider for secure and decentralised real-time communication solutions, are entering into a partnership. With this partnership, Adfinis is expanding its portfolio with an exciting solution that will enable it to offer an even more comprehensive range of products in the market for digitally sovereign platforms.

BSI funds security analysis of Matrix

Matrix performs well in BSI audit conducted by MGM Security Partners, only for findings to be misunderstood. On Sunday 1 September, Heise published an inaccurate article that caused much confusion and – unfortunately – turned a positive story about the German government funding open source security research into a bad news story. This blog post aims to address the misunderstandings. *Many thanks to Heise for subsequently correcting the headline.

Element secures ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification

We are delighted to announce that Element, including all of its subsidiaries, has successfully obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, issued by Prescient Security LLC. This certification was achieved on our first attempt, and in a very short period of time, which is a testament to our commitment to the security of our products and operations. Security is always at the forefront of everything we do at Element.
