Idle Time Threshold in Flowace: Set It for New Users and Employees

Learn how to set the idle time threshold in Flowace, the number of minutes without keyboard or mouse activity before time is marked idle.

You can set a default for new users in Default Settings, and change the value for one employee in Permissions, Desktop App. Once the threshold is reached, the whole inactive period is marked idle. Shorter pauses stay active.

In this video:

  • The concept: what the idle threshold is, shown on a timeline with a 10-minute example (9 minutes stays active, 11 minutes is all idle) and a 5-minute comparison
  • Open Admin Settings
  • Scenario 1, Default Settings: open Timesheet & Monitoring, find Idle Interval under Idle and Away Time, enter the minutes and click Save
  • Know that changes in Default Settings apply to new users only, and existing users keep their current settings
  • Scenario 2, one employee: open Permissions › Desktop App, find the employee, change the Idle Time column and click SAVE
  • When to use which: set a default first, then adjust individuals
